SpearEdge LLC builds tools for people who have served. We collect as little personal information as possible, and we do not sell your information to anyone. Documents you upload and documents we generate for you are stored on our infrastructure under your account, encrypted in transit and at rest, so that you can retrieve them later from your document history. They are not stored only on your device. Sections 2 and 6 describe where this information resides, how access to it is restricted, and how long it is retained.
1. Who we are
SpearEdge LLC ("SpearEdge," "we," "us") is a United States limited liability company that builds software for veterans and federal career seekers, including the ClearHire mobile application. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
Website
Our website does not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or cookies for profiling. It loads no resources from any third-party server — fonts and images are served from our own domain, so your browser never discloses your IP address to an outside party simply by visiting. The only personal information the site collects is what you voluntarily type into the contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your organization (optional)
- The inquiry type and message content you provide
Our hosting provider automatically records standard server log data (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) for security, abuse prevention, and availability monitoring. These logs are retained on a short rolling basis and are not used to build a profile of you.
ClearHire mobile application
ClearHire builds federal and civilian resumes from content you provide. Doing that requires sending your content off your device: it is processed on our servers and by our AI provider. ClearHire is not a device-only application, and this section describes exactly what leaves your device.
When you use ClearHire we process:
- Account identity — the email address and account identifier supplied by your sign-in provider. An account is required before a generated document can be downloaded.
- Resume and career content — work history, education, certifications, competencies and skills you enter or import.
- Documents you upload — These documents may include resumes, military evaluation reports such as the NCOER, EVAL, FITREP, EPB or EER, separation documents including DD Form 214, and supporting materials. Documents of this kind may themselves contain sensitive identifiers, including a Social Security number. We do not request a Social Security number, and we do not extract, index or use one; where such an identifier appears in a document you upload, it is stored and deleted with that document under the terms of this Policy. These are held in your document vault until you delete them or delete your account.
- Job announcement text — the posting or USAJOBS announcement you are targeting.
- Generated documents — the resumes and cover letters ClearHire produces, together with your document, application and referral history.
Generated and uploaded documents are held in encrypted object storage. Access to each stored file is governed by row-level security policies that scope retrieval to the authenticated account that created it; no other account, authenticated or anonymous, can retrieve it. Files are delivered to you through signed links that expire ten minutes after they are issued, and a new link is generated each time you request the document.
We do not use your resume content, your uploaded documents or your generated documents to train machine-learning models.
When you paste a USAJOBS announcement link, ClearHire retrieves that public announcement in order to align your resume to it. The announcement text is processed with your resume content as described above.
3. What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information. Ever.
- We do not share your information with data brokers or advertisers.
- We do not ask you for Social Security numbers, dates of birth, government ID numbers, VA claim or file numbers, or financial account numbers, and we do not extract them from your documents. A document you upload is stored as you supplied it, so redact anything you do not want held.
- We do not use your resume content to train machine-learning models.
4. How we use information
- To respond to you. Contact-form submissions are used solely to answer your inquiry.
- To operate and secure our services. Server logs are used to detect abuse, diagnose faults, and maintain availability.
- Diagnostics. The Service integrates no analytics software development kit, no crash-reporting software development kit, and no advertising software development kit. We do not collect diagnostic telemetry from your device.
5. Service providers
We rely on a small number of vendors to deliver our services. They process information only on our instructions and only for the purpose stated:
- Website hosting and form delivery — hosting provider (static site delivery, TLS termination, form relay).
- Email — Microsoft 365 (receiving and answering your inquiries).
- App distribution — Apple, Inc. (App Store delivery, in-app purchase processing). Payment information is handled entirely by Apple; SpearEdge never receives your card details.
- Federal job listings — the USAJOBS public job-listing service, operated by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
- AI document generation — Anthropic, PBC. Your resume content and the target job description are transmitted to the Anthropic Claude API to generate your documents.
- Application backend and document storage — Supabase, Inc. Hosts our database, authentication and the encrypted object storage holding your documents.
- Sign-in — Google LLC and Apple, Inc., for account authentication. We receive your email address and an account identifier; we never receive your password.
- Subscription management — RevenueCat, Inc., to record which subscription or purchase entitlements your account holds. RevenueCat does not receive your card details.
- Transactional email — Resend, for delivering application packages you ask us to send. Resend receives the recipient email address you supply and the attached documents.
6. Data retention
Contact-form correspondence is retained while the inquiry is open and for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping, then deleted. Server logs are retained on a short rolling window.
Generated resumes and cover letters, and any source documents you upload, are retained until you delete them or delete your account. That retention is deliberate: it is what lets you return to your document history and re-download a document you have already generated, without regenerating it and without an additional charge.
When you delete your account using the in-app deletion function, we permanently remove every generated resume and cover letter stored under your account, every source document you have uploaded, your document history, application history and referral outcome records, your profile, and your authentication credentials. Deletion is executed against every storage bucket and every database table in which your data resides. Your stored files are removed at that time and are not retained in backups. Residual copies of database records may persist in routine encrypted infrastructure backups for a period not exceeding 7 days, after which they are overwritten in the ordinary course; those backups are used only for disaster recovery.
7. Security
We apply security controls proportionate to the sensitivity of the information involved, informed by NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, and the OWASP application security standards:
- All traffic to our website and services is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher, with HSTS enforced.
- The website enforces a strict Content Security Policy and related browser hardening headers.
- We practice least-privilege access and do not store credentials in application source code.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, please see our security disclosure contact.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah, and individuals in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR), have these rights under their respective laws. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising them.
You can exercise deletion yourself: open Settings in ClearHire and choose Delete account and all data. That removes everything listed under Data retention above. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete data held on our servers. For anything else, email privacy@spearedgellc.com and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
We honor Global Privacy Control signals. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, no opt-out is required.
9. Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adults seeking employment and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Veterans and service members
ClearHire is built for people who have served. We treat military service history, MOS/AFSC/rating codes, and veteran preference eligibility as sensitive personal information. This information is never sold, and is never disclosed to employers except when you yourself choose to include it in an application you submit. It is held under the same encrypted storage, access controls and deletion guarantees as the rest of your documents, and it is shared only with the processors named under Service providers above.
11. International transfers
SpearEdge operates in the United States, and information we hold is processed in the United States. If you access our services from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be processed here.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and, where required, provide additional notice. Continued use of our services after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
